BCPI DENTAL EDUCATION

The BCPI team are committed to participating in the academic dental community, contributing to research, and educating and collaborating with dental and health professionals regarding current issues in periodontics and dental implants.

To facilitate this commitment to education, BCPI offers opportunities for continuing professional development to the wider dental community throughout the year.

Student Work Experience

Brisbane City Periodontics and Implants has an educational affiliation with a number of universities including Griffith University, the University of Queensland and James Cook University. This affiliation is for the purposes of clinical experience for students undertaking the dental degree programme. At times, patients may be asked if a student may be present during their periodontal appointment. There is no obligation to accept and we respect your decision, either way.

BCPI ITI Study Club

In 2011, BCPI was offered an opportunity by the International Team for Implantology (ITI) to host ITI Study Club events in Brisbane, and has been holding 3-4 meetings a year since.

The aim of this initiative is to bring together like minded clinicians to discuss issues and cases relating to implant dentistry. We believe this study club should foster an open exchange of ideas and a better appreciation of the clinical issues faced by dental practitioners on a daily basis, ultimately to the benefit of our patients.

BCPI Education Day

This education and networking opportunity is held by BCPI biennially.

The format is a half-day of lectures by BCPI Periodontists and a guest speaker on periodontal topics of interest for the dental and allied health community, followed by an opportunity to network with fellow professionals and the BCPI team.

BCPI Hands-on courses

These practical courses are offered throughout the year to students and dentists at various skill levels in collaboration with other specialists and dental implant companies.
