The registered dental Hygienists at BCPI can often play a role in the patients’ initial non-surgical periodontal treatment. More commonly, the hygienist participates in the ongoing periodontal maintenance. The hygienist will carry out preventive and therapeutic care under the supervision of the periodontist managing your specific needs.

The Hygienist helps reach sustainable, stable periodontal health through oral hygiene education and instruction, mechanical debridement (scaling) and polishing. Your optimal periodontal and implant health will be achieved and maintained through this efficient and cost-effective professional teamwork at BCPI.

Wendy Crowther-Cilento

Wendy graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 1991 and has worked in the areas of preventive care and Periodontal Disease within some of the more dynamic general dental practices and Specialist Practices in Queensland and South Australia. Wendy has been actively involved in the establishment and progression of hygienists in Queensland and has held positions on both the State and National Dental Hygienist Associations, being one of the founding members of the Queensland DHAA. She is continually upgrading her knowledge by attending conferences and seminars pertinent to her expertise. With 20 years in the profession Wendy brings with her extensive experience in the area of preventive care for our patients, along with an enthusiasm for your dental health.
